This will blow your mind off

guaranteed.

It reminds me a bit of this previous post (racist?).

...and Isaac Hayes - WTF?!

It's hard to believe, but Black Moses is dead.

Growing up listening to hip hops I was first put on to the fabulous world of soul and funk via the samples of this man's classic jams. The guy was not only good for composing and singing masterful slow jams, but he held his own on the silver (and blue) screen.

Below are a few of the classic jams that continue to inspire.

That "kick it!" bit is too much. It gets me rolling every time. You can see Kid Capri laughing behind the tables as well.

The Mac man delivered the funny again when he stole the show in Chris rock's black president movie Head of State. Here is the funniest scene from the movie:

New Mamet

There is a new Mamet movie out. Yes, on e in the same guy who brought you "ABC" (always be closing). I saw it last night, and while it wasn't the best thing in the world, it did have a good amount of trademark asbergers-esque dialogue and plot twists that you would expect form a high functioning autistic.

The acting is top notch and the mixed martial arts action is pretty fresh. Our star is that guy from American gangster and a shiiteload of other movies, he has some unprouncable name, but you'll recognize him when you see him.  There are a number of Mamet's retinue of groutesques that make cameos and fill various supporting roles, again, delivering the Boston-high-school-teacher-written goods.

Here's the link. Enjoy, tricks. I think it's up to an 8/10 on the IMDb, if you happen to give a shit about that shit.

Anyway, in putting together the new look, I came across a Norwegian botch liter (NBL) of fonts. Many are graffiti related, but some are just kind of fly styles. If you want to make some fliers or something these are a nice addition to your computudora.

Here's the link to download, if you need help on how to put fonts into your computer, click this word.

The Cow!

this Mighty Mouse cartoon series form the 80s is the shiznit. Ralph Bashki and John Krikfaloozee totally sonned the Sponge Bobs and Ren and Stimpys that would take over animations in the 90s and new millenium. Check the thick outlines, the random song sequences (Mr. Bojangles?!@) and tell me this is not the best shiz in ink.

This episode deals with a psychopath with obsessive compulsive disorder, the cow, psycho-therapy, and very little superheroing. Features the song, "twitch and writhe."

  2. Dan's stupid-dope styles of the future of 1976
  3. Morgan's freshly wrapped rapping songs
  4. Classic comedy clips from the internets
  5. Saturday morning cartoonz
  6. Eugene's own 1991 Public Access show, "Our version of hell"
I do hope my common man will help to devise more dopeness. Hit me on the emails if you need spiritual guidance.

Oh yes, if you hit the on-demand button on the tube, there are some tasty movies to watch, compiled from years of youtube research.

One more month

Watching that Eli Porter video I am coming to the conclusion that the internets is finally fulfilling it's promise of making famous peoples back in to the vaudvillian freaks they were intended to be. Soon, gone will be the days of looking to TomKat and Bradgelina for tips on how to vote or raise a family; instead, they will be relegated to traveling around from town to town with teh American Idol tour spreading HPV.

Also,

One more month till the end of the school year. Then what? Weddings, summer work, internets, diet vanilla cherry chocolate dr. pepper.....ahhhhhhhh.

I am frightened of the possibilities. you probably should be too.

I've definitely been enjoying the cool, crisp and refreshing carbonation of the seltzer water over soft drinks for a while now. Mixed with juice or straight, it's fine by me. But check this out. Kool Keith brings his lucid rationale into perspective as he explains why he enjoys seltzer water, too and then some. Have a pen and paper ready to jot down some tips!

Chalie Rose by Samuel Becket

I don't know if you have ever sat through a Charlie Rose interview, but I always get tense. Maybe its the all black studio with just him and his guest, sitting there, alone in the world. Somehow it always seems to slowly ratchet the tension. He could interview Smurfette, and his ultra serious tone and trenchant questioning would soon illustrate the smurfs' ongoing troubles with Gargamel as a showdown between shareholder capitalism and the evil bumbling state; or at least that is what i think he is about to do. Perhaps that is why this 'mash up' of his overbearing inquisitiveness in the style of 'Waiting for Godot' playwrite and 'pregnant pause'-master Samuel Becket is so spot on and utterly hilarious.

Saturday, April 26

Developing world disco

If you love to get down in foreign countries and exotic locales like I do - Ottowa anyone? - then you have probably been exposed to the synth stylings of the Vengaboys. From the video it is difficult to tell who is in the group, you know, playing the synths. It could be the girls, but really?! I could tell you who drives the Vengabus, but that is neither here nor there.

Special Synth Mix

I just pulled some of the tasty 80s and late 70s synth jams form my internet picks and threw em together in this mixtape.

Yep it's got some classics: Gary Newman, Phil Collins, Giorgio, even some Cameo.

What I'm trying to say is, you should probably take about three goofballs and smoke a magic mushroom out of a fanta bottle - gravity-bong style - before you even think about clicking that link. I just can't/won't be responsible for what might happen:

I'm not a huge fan, but the Mrs. is and after seeing him life and reading up on his story, guy gets mad respect from me. Hands down, dude rocks. Highlights: Max Weinberg, minus Conan; Clarence Clemons, the guy everyone wants to be; Steven Van Zandt, with bandanna in check. License 2 Drizive

Oh snap, who would have guessed that Carol Kane, Richard Masur and Heather Graham would be cast behind the Coreys? Here is your chance to see why; License To Drive is playing, for free, on the internets. Get there here.

What did Gene Shalit say about it? I thought you'd never ask.

"My moistest of memories memorized by moment could not break the spell of splendor that this titillating tale treated the theater goers to; that is, the Coreys are cute, courageous and cataloged under creamy for the way they made my meat melt."

Free Movie Ressurection??

In light of Stage6 (RIP) being on teh deaded side of things I have been trolling the internets in search of a suitable replacement site that will offer the same divx quality at an affordable (free) rate. In this process I have returned to my movie aggregation point of choice, 66 Stage, in search of da bomb azz ish.

While the fact remains that the nicely designed divx movies have been eliminated for good, I have investigated the possibility that a certain Veoh may be the heir apparent for high-quality vids. Yes, it is basically a youtube clone; however, it does allow for better quality than youtube currently (italics mine, all mine) allows.

Oh yeah, in order to get with these movies you have to sign up and download a player that resides on your hard drive. After that, I suppose you're home free. Let's check in with Gene Shalit and Harpo Marx's son and see what they think about it:

Oh yesh, I almost forgot:
10,000 B.C. = boring
Thanks for saving the ticket price Veoh!

Gene Shalit says:
"This film flowed through my mustache with the pizzaz of a point break and the precision of a premature ejaculation."

Chinee Movie: CJ7

I am super stoked that I finally got to see CJ7 last night. It was a long time coming as it had been released in China during the Chinee New Year break.

As for the movie, it was awesome. The effects were on par with past Steve Chow flicks Kung Fu and Shaolin Soccer. There was still a good amount of laughs even though there are now requisite social and emotional elements to Chow's movies.

The only downside, for me, was the scarcity of Chow on screen; in fact, he seems to occupy more of a supporting actor role. That may be part of his master plan to get more done behind the camera, and unfortunately not deliver as many punchlines. This being the case, the lead actor portraying Chow's son - the young and female Xu Jiao - comes through with some real funny ish. S/he is placed in a number of situations that reference a number of Chow movies but include tributes to some foreign ones as well (Mission Impossible!!!).

Furthermore, the supporting cast continues to feature the usual cast of freaks and weirdos that Chow loves to have us gawk at. One of my favorites is the track and field coach with the worlds highest shorts.

No spoilers here just get out there and see it in the theater if you can. I am going to look for it on the internets, so maybe I'll post a link later.

Gene Shalit says:
"I give it three mustaches twisted up in a Rollie Fingers salute."

Tuesday, March 4

Movies by Numbers: Old School...I mean Semi-Pro

I just saw the semi-pro. Definitely has some funny scenes, but the formula for making these films just keeps on getting used.

Nothing against Will Farrell; the guy is hilarious. Woody was good too. Just seeing the same plot points get hit over and over again can be grating. I highly recommend seeing this one on the internets for free. In fact, jsut watching the ads is just about as entertaining as the actual movie.

Despite being deaded, Gene Shalit may still have loved it. In fact he was resurrected by Vincent Price and is said to have called this film a "whimsical warriors-esque wemake of west side story."
